If you’ve spent any time on SuperLawyers.com, you’ve probably read some of our articles about attorneys featured in Super Lawyers Magazine. Our mission is to bring visibility to excellence in legal practice, but we also love sharing these inspiring stories: they bring our magazine to life.
We’re proud to announce that two of these features have recently received recognition:
- “After Columbine” by Steve Knopper, from the 2012 Colorado Super Lawyers Magazine, was awarded First Place in the Top of the Rockies Society of Professional Journalists contest in the Legal: General Reporting category.
- “Friending Ted Ullyot” by Joe Mullich, a feature from 2012 Super Lawyers Business Edition about Facebook’s first general counsel, was a finalist for the LA Press Club’s SoCal Journalism Award in the Magazine Personality Profile category.
“We’re excited and gratified by this recognition,” said Erik Lundegaard, Editor-in-Chief, Super Lawyers. “A lot of work went into these stories from freelancers Steve Knopper and Joe Mullich, and from our editors, copy editors and fact-checkers, and the final product was worth it. Both stories exemplify what we try to do: tell serious stories about the top people in law.”
There was some stiff competition for the SoCal Journalism Award: Among the other finalists were several high-profile publications. “I liked seeing who we were up against for the LA Press Club Award-Hollywood Reporter, Playboy and Reason magazine,” Lundegaard said. “You don’t often see a legal journal in this kind of company.”
Congratulations to the authors and the rest of our editorial team!
