In the 2011 issue of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, we featured personal injury powerhouse Shanin Specter of Kline & Specter in Philadelphia on the cover. His next big case might be representing victims of the child sex abuse scandal at Penn State, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“I’m concerned that some of these cases will not be allowed to proceed because some of them might not meet that narrow standard [for forcible compulsion in Pennsylvania courts],” Specter told the Business Journal. “It’s ridiculous because sexual abuse is not just physical but psychological compulsion.”
In our cover story on Specter, here’s what his parter, Tom Kline, had to say about Specter’s legal skills:
“Shanin is exceptionally disciplined,” says Kline. “But he also approaches his cases with a moving passion in a way that convinces juries by both logic and feeling. He’s a magnificent trial lawyer who has impeccable skills and marvelous instincts. He is an enormously effective communicator. There is no finer lawyer in America.”
