The 2012 Super Lawyers Business Edition is now available

The new issue--an annual reference tool for general counsel and executives--features a comprehensive list of attorneys in business-related practice areas, which are divided into five practice groups: business and transactional work; construction, real estate and environmental; employment; intellectual property; and business litigation. Christy Myatt and the Ponzi Scheme Case That Took Her Around the World

In our 2012 edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers, we learn that cover subject Christy Myatt of Nexsen Pruet has taken on some pretty interesting cases in her bankruptcy practice. One that stands out is SEC v. Elfindepan, S.A., et al. In 2001, she was appointed as the receiver to pursue funds and assets of Elfindepan, S.A., a company set up by Tracy Calvin Dunlap Jr. Dunlap managed to get more than 2,000 U.S. and foreign individuals to invest more than $42 million in an elaborate Ponzi scheme. In this video clip, she talks about the case, which took her around the world.

When we talked to Robert H. Haggard, partner at The Van Winkle Law Firm in Asheville and in Hendersonville, for the 2012 edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers, he elaborated on some of his volunteer work, including his participation in helping fly WWII veterans to D.C. to visit their memorial (he took his 15th flight last November).
