Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes, daughter of Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Moses Baker and a longtime Florida Super Lawyers/Rising Stars listee is the first black woman elected to lead the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Northern California Rising Stars listee Cody Harris responded to a planned extremist rally by launching an "Adopt-a-Nazi (Not Really)" GoFundMe campaign, to benefit the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP attorney's campaign raised more than $160,000 in about 10 days and went viral, becoming a trending hashtag on Twitter. http://bit.ly/2vMEORV

A big congratulations goes out to incoming Inner Circle of Advocates President Joseph A. Power, Jr. of Power Rogers & Smith, LLP in Chicago. In the 2007 edition of Illinois Super Lawyers, Power spoke to us about his legendary personal injury practice and the case that eventually brought down Gov. George Ryan. http://bit.ly/2wznXHp

Longtime listee Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr. of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP Careers in L.A. helped San Francisco-based Uber win a victory at the U.S. 2nd Circuit 3-0 today. Overturning a lower court decision, the court ruled that online contracts and hyperlinks constitute proper notification to customers waiving the right to sue. http://nyti.ms/2wezY4D

Dean Strang has joined the Innocence Project defense team of Richard Beranek, who in June was released from his prison sentence for a rape conviction after 27 years. State prosecutors have four months to decide to re-try the case against our 2016 cover subject. http://bit.ly/2wa2IuL
